Job Description:
SepiSolar is looking for an experienced Development Engineering Manager to execute services that precede, succeed, and complement our standard scope of electrical engineering, thereby removing friction for and leading new business directly into our core engineering services. This role will be responsible for identifying special or unique (e.g., “non-standard”) services, developing those programmatically, executing them, and working collaboratively with Engineering, Business Development, and Marketing departments to promote and establish these services as standard scopes within SepiSolar’s overall suite of services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage Development Engineering team to provide reliable and compressive solutions to clients facing a wide array of project development challenges.
- Manage and cement strong relationships with clients
- Provide subject matter expertise for legal proceedings pertaining to solar and storage systems
- Provide technical support for Business Development and Marketing departments
- Conduct research and analysis to support sales proposal and marketing collateral / white paper development
- Collaborate with Engineering department on new capabilities and service initiatives that meet both market and customer expectations and demand
- Manage and be accountable for special or unique projects and services; assist the development of these functions programmatically while quickly becoming the subject-matter expert and teaching others to perform similar work
- Represent SepiSolar on assigned association or industry committees and build relationships with members of these associations
- Develop activity-based scopes of work within company’s cost code structure to effectively generate repeatable templates for program work
- Provide quotations for development engineering work
- Deliver work products on-time and on-budget with best-in-class customer service
- Advise SepiSolar management on special projects that could be incorporated into standard scopes and deliverables with proper tool development and training
- Assist in identifying target sales and market opportunities based on customer requests and SepiSolar’s capabilities
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a technical lead in the solar and storage industry
- Strong personnel management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of project origination, development, planning, execution, and operations
- Thorough understanding of construction, procurement methods, principles, means, and methods
- PMP certification a plus
- NABCEP certification a plus
- DBIA certification a plus
- Expert-level user or developer in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
- Fast learner and passion for solving problems
- Strong math, programming, and analytical skills
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain complex topics in lay-person language
