Richard grew up in Santa Rosa, California, and graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in electrical/mechanical engineering. During his time at SCU, he was a member of the team that competed in the 2013 Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon, in which 20 universities from around the world each built a 1000 sq ft solar-powered home. It was during this time that Richard fell in love with solar power and decided to pursue a career in the solar industry with SepiSolar. Since joining, he has become an NABCEP certified solar professional and earned his Professional Engineer’s license in California and multiple states. Richard hopes to apply his solar and energy storage knowledge toward making the utility grid more renewable-friendly. Outside the office, he can be found jamming with his latest musical project, hiking, or tinkering with some new gadget in his workshop.
